NetJets’ Chairman and CEO Adam Johnson has been named President of Consumer Products, Service and Retailing at Berkshire Hathaway.
Berkshire Hathaway has named NetJets Chairman and CEO Adam Johnson to a top corporate position.
News came via a press release this morning.
Johnson has been appointed President of the Consumer Products, Service, and Retailing businesses of Berkshire Hathaway.
The appointment is effective immediately.
Johnson will continue his role at the world’s largest private jet operator.
The announcement credited Johnson’s tenure for strengthening operations and building enduring customer relationships across a global platform.
Berkshire Hathaway Vice Chairman Gregory Abel said, “Adam is an accomplished leader with a proven ability to deliver long-term shareholder value.”
He added, “In his new role, he will support the outstanding CEOs of our 32 consumer products, service, and retailing businesses, and uphold Berkshire’s culture and values.”
The remaining non-insurance businesses – including industrial products, building products, BNSF, Berkshire Hathaway Energy, Pilot, and McLane – will remain under Abel’s direct oversight.
Abel assumes Warren Buffett’s role as President and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway on January 1, 2026.
Johnson has served as Chairman and CEO of NetJets since June 2015.
Previously, he held roles as President of Global Sales, Marketing, and Service; Senior Vice President of NetJets Administrative Services; Senior Vice President of Logistics; and Executive Director of the NetJets Aviation Flight Center.
Johnson received a bachelor’s degree in business management from The Ohio State University and is a licensed pilot.
NetJets includes aircraft management and charter arm Executive Jet Management.
Buffett praised Johnson during Berkshire Hathaway’s 2023 annual meeting.
He said, “Adam Johnson has performed; you can’t believe what he’s done with the business,” adding, “It was a tough model for a long time, but (Johnson) has brought it where it is, and we should have a wonderful company forever.”
Recently, President Patrick Gallagher said NetJets had sold more than half of the inventory for the 2026 expected deliveries.
