Linear Air revamps membership program

Regional-travel focused Linear Air has rebranded its membership program as The Arrow Club and added two additional tiers.

Linear Air, which focuses on regional private charter flights, has relaunched and rebranded its membership program.

The move comes six months after Justin Nihon returned as CEO.

Nihon tells Private Jet Card Comparisons the changes are designed to support frequent flyers.

More than 50% of the Boston-based broker’s flights are on air taxis.

The company categorizes the air taxis into five buckets: Air Taxi, Premium Air Taxi, Midsize Air Taxi, Large Air Taxi, and Executive Air Taxi.

Executive Air Taxis are turboprops such as the King Air and Pilatus PC-12.

The other categories represent single- and twin-engine piston aircraft seating two to six passengers, while the turboprops accommodate up to eight passengers.

The Cirrus SR-22 or the Cessna 172 Skyhawk (pictured above) are examples of piston aircraft.

The Arrow Club

The Arrow Club by Linear Air features a Core level.

Members either prepay $24,000 or $2,000 per month for flights.

They get a 5% discount on flight costs and guaranteed availability when booking at least 72 hours in advance, excluding weekends and holidays.

The Premium level offers a 10% discount and a 48-hour booking window.

Premium members pay either $48,000 in advance or $4,000 monthly.

They also get coordination of ground transportation and catering as pass-along costs.

Nihon says there is also a custom level targeting companies.

Pricing is dynamic.

There is penalty-free cancellation at least 48 hours before departure for all tiers, though turboprop and jet charter operators may apply more restrictive terms.

However, that speaks to the core market Linear Air is targeting: piston aircraft.

Nihon (pictured below) points to all of the coverage of eVTOL, noting that in large part, it is those shorter journeys where a single flight on a piston aircraft replaces a long drive or an airline flight and drive.

Nihon expects growth to come as high-net-worth households place greater value on experiences and on getting more done faster.

That could be multiple same-day stops or returning for a family event after a regional meeting.

Nihon says Linear Air’s experience and focus on the air taxi market give it a unique position in the charter market, with most brokers and fixed-rate programs focused on jets.

Online Booking

Another key feature of Linear Air is that it offers instant booking on its website for flights as soon as the next day.

You can search, click, and buy.

Nihon notes that while the price and aircraft category are confirmed, if it cannot fulfill the flight in that aircraft category, it will offer a discounted rate for a lower-priced category or a higher-priced option if that’s all that’s available.

About 50% of Linear Air’s bookings are digital, Nihon says, with regular flyers using online booking more often.
