The company uses Carbon Trade Exchange to offset carbon emissions from Monarch Air Group charter customers.
Monarch Air Group has continued its carbon offset program.
The Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based charter broker offsets its annual carbon emissions.
The announcement yesterday coincided with Earth Day.
CEO David Gitman said, “Sustainability isn’t a one-time effort; it’s something we’re continually working toward.”
Gitman added, “We’re focused on making thoughtful decisions that support both our clients and the future of the industry.”
The company said the carbon offset program is part of its “long-standing commitment towards ethical business practices and operations.”
It was the first charter broker to earn accreditation for a sustainable flight department program from the National Business Aviation Association.
A spokesperson tells Private Jet Card Comparisons, “We collect flight data throughout the year and then offset emissions afterward.”
She says, “Every flight’s carbon footprint is calculated based on aircraft type, flight time, and fuel burn.”
Monarch Air Group uses the Carbon Trade Exchange to purchase verified carbon credits.
The spokesperson says, “By doing this, we fund renewable energy projects that generate power using sustainable sources.”
Aviation accounts for about 2% of all worldwide carbon emissions.
Private jets account for 2% of that 2%.
