The expansion follows Flexjet LLC securing an $18.6 million tax credit against an anticipated annual payroll increase of $62.5 million.
The Greater Cleveland area will see 976 new jobs as Flexjet, LLC expands its worldwide headquarters.
Its headquarters are located at Cuyahoga County Airport in Richmond Heights, Ohio.
The news was first reported by the Greater Cleveland Partnership and Gongwer Ohio, which reports on state politics.
The jobs will generate $62.5 million in annual payroll by 2031.
Expansion follows Flexjet LLC securing an $18.6 million tax credit, per the two reports.
Greater Cleveland posted on social media, “The luxury private aviation company received state tax credit support for the next phase of its multiyear campus transformation at Cuyahoga County Airport, which has already included new facilities such as its Owners Services Center, Global Operations Control Center, and onsite data center.”
It continued, “The expansion reinforces Cleveland’s growing aviation and aerospace ecosystem.”
Flexjet opened its current facility in 2023.
The 51,452-square-foot facility increased space to 243,000 square feet.
News 5 Cleveland reported that Ohio was competing against Florida and Texas for the expansion project.
It said with the tax credit authority’s approval, the state is offering Flexjet a 1.92%, 15-year tax credit on new payroll at the site.
Flexjet is the second-largest private jet operator behind NetJets.
It currently operates around 340 private jets with about 50 new aircraft expected to arrive in 2026.
Last month, it announced an agreement with Gulfstream Aerospace for exclusivity as the only fractional provider to receive delivery of new Gulfstream G500 and ultra-long-range Gulfstream G700 aircraft.
In 2025, it signed a $7 billion deal with Embraer that included 182 private jets.
Its sister, Sentient Jet, is a leader in jet cards, while FXAir focuses on ad hoc charter flights.
A Flexjet spokesperson tells Private Jet Card Comparisons, “What our state partners shared yesterday is just a nod to what’s ahead.”
He added, “Stay tuned as we’ll unveil a more complete vision for the Flexjet Global Headquarters campus in Cleveland in the weeks ahead.”
