Aegis Air was founded in 2026 by hotel development executive Frank Ornstein and security specialist Ross Thompson.

They are using a wet-leased Aero Embraer regional jet to launch flights to Caracas, Venezuela.

The first flights from Miami are scheduled to start on October 20, 2026.

Plans call for additional flights from Houston and Washington, D.C., to Venezuela.
