Which country is bucking the downward trend in private jet flight activity? Grazie, Italia.
Global private jet flight activity in Week 13 increased by 1% from Week 12, with 69,385 movements.
That’s down 6% from Week 13 in 2012.
Over the four-week period ending May 2, global private jet flight activity was down 7%.
It was a similar story with fractional and charter operators.
However, only one of the segments we track via WingX data was up week-to-week, compared to the same week last year, for the trailing four weeks in both the overall and charter/fractional numbers.
We’ll take what Italy is having.
Italian private jet departures were up 7% for the week, 20% compared to the same week last year, and 9% during the past four weeks.
In the charter and fractional segment, Italy was in positive territory across the border.
Auguroni!
Otherwise, it was more of the same.
While the U.S. was up 1% week-to-week with 49,271 departures, those numbers were 8% below 2012.
European private jet flights were also up 1% week-to-week and down 4% compared to the same week last year.
With Ramadan underway but starting later, numbers in the Middle East were down 15% compared to the previous week and 30% below 2022.

WingX Managing Director Richard Koe was in flight as we are writing this, so perhaps he can share the secrets of Italy’s success for next week’s report.
Until then, arrivederci.
