Merlin1 will open an Austin, Texas, base in September, resulting in lower hourly rates on its jet card there

San Antonio-based charter operator Merlin1 is opening an Austin, Texas, based effective Sept. 15, 2023.

The operator had previously offered its jet card there, but it will now base two of its Citation 650 midsize jets at KAUS, CFO and General Manager Matt Schwegman tells Private Jet Card Comparisons.

Its M1 jet card is offered from its home base, Austin, Dallas, and Houston.

By basing aircraft in Austin, the hourly rate is dropping to $7,000 per hour.

Merlin1 offers guaranteed availability with 48 hours notice and no peak days.

Schwegman adds, “Over the past 16 years, Merlin1 has established itself as the premier operator in San Antonio with the most program customers in the area, and we are looking forward to being the premier operator in the Central Texas region’.”
