According to an analysis by Aviation International News, Part 91k fractional operators had no fatal accidents between 2006 and 2021.
Fractional private aircraft operators “have an exceptional safety record,” according to an Aviation International News analysis of the NTSB’s expanded accident report database.
For the period covered by the data – from 2006 to 2021, “[T]here have been no reported fatal accidents and few with serious injuries.”
Of 13 accidents, there were only two serious injuries.
In one case, the injury was broken ribs from turbulence, and in another, it was a broken ankle exiting the aircraft.
Both occurrences were classified as accidents, according to AIN, due to the type of injuries.
A 2021 analysis by AIN found U.S. charter operators had three just three fatal jet accidents in the preceding decade, with 18 deaths.
