By-the-seat scheduled flights launched by Tradewind Aviation last fall are moving from Palm Beach to SUA.
Tradewind Aviation’s by-the-seat scheduled flights from Palm Beach to the Bahamas, launched last Fall, are moving to Witham Field.
Current routes are to North Eleuthera and Marsh Harbour.
The change in airports is effective Jan. 23, 2025.
Witham Field is 40 miles north of Palm Beach.
Tradewind didn’t offer a reason for the move.
However, many operators are concerned about flight restrictions at PBI after Donald Trump’s inauguration later this month.
The airport restrictions when a U.S. president arrives or departs include closures, diversions, ground stops, and alternate routings.
Trump has a primary residence in Palm Beach.
PBI is the second-busiest airport for private jets in the country.
Separately, Tradewind noted that in 2024, it completed 27,000 scheduled and private flights with over 80,000 passengers.
It also took delivery of three new Pilatus PC-12 NGXs.
There was also a new partnership with JetBlue Airways.
Conde Nast Traveler’s readers selected it among the top five U.S. airlines for the fourth year in a row.
In 2025, Tradewind says it will continue to increase schedules to St. Barths and Virgin Gorda.
