It’s back to the future for Vista Global’s XO-branded shuttle flights.

After operating a pair of XO-branded CRJs since 2022, parent Vista Global is outsourcing the service again.

The aircrafts are configured with 18 seats in a 1×1 configuration.

Its new partner, Tri-State Charter, operates VIP-configured Bombardier CRJ and Challenger private jets.

It will take the two tails previously operated by Vista.

According to a press release from Vista Global, “The partnership, operated under Tri-State’s new luxury travel brand, Slate Aviation, will initially build on Vista’s existing XO branded shuttle service between New York and South Florida, with newly refurbished cabins and upgraded on-board services introduced to certain airport pairs starting in March.”

The announcement continued, “The partnership represents another step in XO’s strategy to expand its instantly bookable private travel offering provided by industry-leading operators.”

Vista Global added, “By joining XO’s intuitive booking platform with Slate’s CRJ-specific fleet scale and infrastructure, current XO clients, as well as newly welcomed customers, will enjoy a smoother experience, exciting new service amenities, and the introduction of additional destinations unveiled throughout the year.”

A spokesperson declined to specify new routes.

Flights will continue to operate from private terminals.

XO operated over 1,400 flights, serving nearly 15,000 passengers between New York and South Florida.

It launched the by-the-seat shuttles in 2019 after acquiring JetSmarter, which offered a similar service.

Tri-Sate Aviation

The FAA aircraft registry for charter aircraft under Part 135 shows Tri-Sate with 13 Challenger 850 series jets.

According to its website, Tri-Sate was founded in 1963.

It has over 100 employees nationwide.

Vista Global confirmed it was selling its U.S. light jet and Citation X fleet in August.

However, a deal for the super-midsize jets has yet to be consummated.

Vista America operators ended the first six months of 2024 as the third-largest North American fractional/charter operator.
