Airshare appoints Kaufman, Makowski to leadership positions

Airshare has added two leaders in maintenance and sales.

Former Elliott Aviation COO David Makowski (pictured right) is now senior vice president of maintenance.

Nick Kaufman joins from Ventura Aviation as vice president of sales for the Western Region.

Makowski’s experience includes 25 years at Delta Air Lines, 10 at NetJets, and six at Wheels Up and Gama Aviation Signature.

He enters a newly created role overseeing maintenance for managed and fractional fleets.

Makowski reports to Alex Franz, President of Fractional Operations, and KC Ihlefeld, President of Aircraft Management.

Makowski says, “With Airshare established as one of the largest private aviation operators, I believe the company is well positioned to significantly grow our maintenance capabilities.”

He adds, “I look forward to contributing my expertise and experience to the immensely talented group of maintenance professionals we have across all our bases.”

Franz says, “Our fleet has increased significantly, so we felt it was the ideal time to reorganize the structure within our maintenance department. We are very confident Dave will make an immediate impact.”

Kaufman heads West Coast sales programs after having experience with Wheels Up, Citation Air, and Flight Options.

He reports to Chief Revenue Officer Dylan Haynie.

Kaufman says, “When Airshare announced the national expansion of its fractional program, I was immediately interested in pursuing an opportunity to represent the brand on the West Coast. Fractional customers in this region are going to love the efficiency and flexibility associated with our program, as well as the experience of flying in the Phenom 300 and Challenger 3500 aircraft.”

Airshare expanded nationwide last September.
