Airshare goes nationwide with fractional, jet cards

Fractional and jet card customers will no longer pay repositioning surcharges for flights within the Continental U.S.

Airshare’s fractional and jet card primary service area has been expanded to cover the entire Continental 48 U.S. states.

The move means customers will no longer pay surcharges for flights arriving and departing in the expanded zone.

The expanded PSA brings Airshare to the West Coast, Arizona, Nevada, and the Pacific Northwest.

Members of its programs were notified yesterday, and an executive confirmed that a formal announcement would be made later this morning.

“We are extremely excited to be offering the Airshare Fractional Program to all potential customers coast-to-coast,” said John Owen, CEO of Airshare.

He added, “Over the last few years, we have been carefully analyzing the right time to make our fractional ownership and jet cards available nationwide, as we wanted to confidently ensure we would maintain the exceptional customer service we provide for our existing customers.”

The CEO concluded, “This change will only increase the flexibility our customers benefit from while flying with us, enhancing operational efficiencies across our entire fractional fleet.”

Airshare expansion

Airshare has been moving since 2018, when Owen moved from the CFO spot to the corner office.

After growing its Midwestern footprint, Airshare added Florida and the U.S. Northeast.

Last year, it went national on its aircraft management side by acquiring Wheels Up’s aircraft management arm.

It has also been trading up, exiting King Air and Phenom 100 programs. The fractional fleet has now transitioned into its current Phenom 300 and Challenger 3500 fractional options.

Earlier this year, it also gained a new majority owner.

Airshare has around 150 aircraft between its fractional and managed fleet, with over 600 employees.

Through the first six months of 2024, Airshare ranked as North America’s 10th-largest charter/fractional private jet operator.
