Charter and jet card operator Premier Private Jets expands its FBO footprint after acquiring a CVG location from Wheels Up.
Wheels Up continues to shed non-core assets by selling an FBO at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport to Premier Private Jets.
The facility came to the Delta Air Lines-backed private jet flight provider via its 2020 acquisition of Delta Private Jets.
Wheels Up Chief Operating Officer Dave Holtz says, “As we continue to execute our strategic vision, the sale of our CVG facility to Premier Private Jets represents a thoughtful decision that benefits both Wheels Up and our valued customers.”
He adds, “Our longstanding partnership with the Premier team gives us complete confidence that the facility is in the best possible hands.”
Wheels Up will maintain its presence at CVG by utilizing the now named PremierFBO for a full suite of services.
For Premier Private Jets, the CVG facilities offer “an additional support hub for Premier’s charter fleet of light and midsize jets.”
It has 50,000 square feet of hangar and terminal facility, including a large modern lounge and office areas.
The hangar can handle ultra-long-range jets up to a Gulfstream G650.
As with Premier’s FBO at Dayton International, the CVG facility has a large ramp and can handle airline-size aircraft, including 757s and similar aircraft often used for sports charters.
The FBO has deicing and other service equipment to handle these larger aircraft.
In late 2023, Premier Private Jets acquired a major MRO center in Dayton.
It then added a PremierFBO facility there in 2025.
Premier Founder and CEO Josh Birmingham says, “CVG fits with our strategic growth strategy.”
Birmingham adds:
‘Today, we have an outstanding maintenance organization centered in Dayton and growing FBO presence. The Premier brand is becoming better known. On the FBO side, customers find both warmth and professionalism and the facilities and services they need to keep their flight operations running efficiently.’
Birmingham says the company will strategically acquire more FBOs.
The target regions are the Upper Midwest and Southeast.
