Easter’s later date in 2025 drove a 10% week-to-week dip and 4% year-over-year decline in worldwide private jet flight activity.
Worldwide private jet flight activity (68,789 segments) saw a 10% week-to-week drop in Week 16.
That put global segments 4% below 2024 levels.
WingX’s Managing Director suggests that the dip was caused by a later Easter date – April 20, 2025, rather than March 31, 2024.
Over the trailing four weeks, were 286,597 segments flown, a 2% year-over-year increase.
Koe says, “The big dip in year-over-year traffic this week may appear to be the fallout from broader economic concerns, but we are only seeing the usual slowdown during Easter holidays, and indeed business jet flights this Easter are comfortably ahead of Easter week last year.”
U.S. segments (47,366) were down 3% year-over-year for the week ending April 20, 2025.
Flying was up 1% during the past four weeks with 197,380 segments.
Europe was down 17% year-over-year with 8,327 segments.
However, its 36,022 segments were a 1% gain during the trailing four weeks.
