So far, on a year-over-year basis, the scorecard shows:

  • Weeks Up: 31
  • Weeks Flat: 2
  • Weeks Down: 3
  • 20 weeks since a down week

This week, private jet flight activity showed a 10% increase year-over-year.

However, the 73,678 global departures remained relatively even compared to last week.

From September 1st through September 8th, private jet activity recorded an 11% year-over-year increase in departures and a 10% year-over-year increase in flight hours.

Light business jets and super midsize business jets led the market, as these classes accounted for nearly half of all private jet flights.

Light business jets saw a 13.6% increase in departures, while super midsize business jets saw a 14.4% increase in departures compared to last year.

Midsize business jets also saw a 10.2% increase in departures compared to last year.

The only year-over-year decrease was from the VIP business jet segment, which saw a 12.8% decrease.

WingX Managing Director Richard Koe spoke about the private jet industry’s success continuing into September.

Koe stated:

‘North America continues to underpin the global trend with consistent gains, while Europe’s softer performance reflects lingering headwinds despite bright spots in Switzerland and Italy. Meanwhile, Africa and South America are emerging as standout growth engines, adding fresh momentum beyond the traditional core markets. Major events such as the Italian Grand Prix underline the sector’s unique role in connecting global business and lifestyle hubs.’

Week-over-week, global private jet activity remained relatively flat.

However, the United States still saw a week-over-week increase of about 3%.

This was an approximate 13% increase year-over-year.

This increase was largely driven by increases in Florida, California, and Texas. Each of these states saw a respective week-over-week increase of 2-3%.

Texas saw the largest year-over-year increase, recording a 15% increase.

Europe saw a significant drop in private jet flight activity compared to last week, recording a 7% drop. This was equivalent to a 2% drop year-over-year.

The country that saw the largest year-over-year decrease was France, which saw an 11% drop in private jet flights.

Germany saw a 1% increase in private jet flights compared to last week, although it was still 1% lower year-over-year.

However, due to the recent Italian Grand Prix, airports near Monza saw an influx of private jet activity.

Nearly 100 business jet arrivals were recorded on Sunday, September 7th, at nearby airports, compared to only 55 private jet flights the past weekend.

Several other regions saw slight decreases in private jet flights compared to last week, including the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

However, only the Middle East experienced a year-over-year decrease, recording approximately 3% fewer flights than in the previous year.
