Powered by a 9% increase in Week 2 compared to 2025, worldwide private jet activity is off to a historically fast start in 2026, per WingX.
According to WingX, private jets worldwide recorded nearly 66,000 departures.
This was a 4% increase compared to the first week of 2026.
Additionally, this was an approximate 9% increase compared to the second week of last year.
So far, on a year-over-year basis, the scorecard shows:
Over the second week of 2026, WingX recorded a total of 65,940 private jet departures around the world.
Private jet travel started in 2026 relatively slowly.
However, global private jet travel began to pick up the pace through the second week of 2026.
This past week, private jets recorded a year-over-year increase of approximately 5,600 departures, a 9% increase.
Over the last four weeks, private jets recorded a 4% increase over the same period a year ago.
Additionally, the first 11 days of January have set a record for the strongest start to any year that WingX has ever tracked.
In terms of global private jet activity trends, the United States leads the way.
The U.S. posted an 11% year-over-year increase, also good for a 4% week-over-week increase.
Florida posted the largest year-over-year gains, matching the country’s total year-over-year increase of 11%.
Even so, this represented a 13% decrease compared to the flight activity recorded the previous week.
California, another major private jet market in the US, saw a year-over-year jump of just 1%.
Over the first 11 days in January, California has posted a 2% decrease in private jet flight activity.
Elsewhere in the United States, New Jersey, Texas, New York, and Illinois each posted significant increases since December.

Private jet flight activity in Europe remained relatively flat year-over-year.
Even so, the region posted nearly 7,000 private jet departures, which was a 4% week-over-week increase.
Several countries saw year-over-year increases, including Switzerland and Italy, which each posted a 6% and a 7% increase, respectively.
However, the other major private jet markets in Europe struggled to gain ground compared to last year.
The UK, Germany, and France each posted year-over-year decreases.
Elsewhere in the world, the Middle East was the only region to see a year-over-year decrease, as the region posted a 6% decrease.
South America experienced the largest year-over-year increase, surging 18% compared to the same week last year.

Global fractional and charter operations also surged through the second week of 2026. Part 91K and Part 135 flights recorded 33,000 flights, which is a 9% year-over-year jump.
The largest market for fractional and charter operations remains the US.
The country posted an 8% year-over-year increase.
However, this was still a 7% dip compared to last week.
California’s private jet activity struggled in Part 91K and Part 135 operations as well, posting a 4% year-over-year decrease.
Europe saw an increase in Part 91K and Part 135 flights over the second week, posting a 4% increase.
However, this was a slight drop compared to last week.
The UK, Germany, and France each posted slight year-over-year decreases, while Switzerland and Italy saw slight increases.
The Middle East and Africa also saw slight decreases compared to last year.
However, Asia and South America continued to show year-over-year growth, with each recording double-digit increases in fractional and charter operations.
