Global private jet flight activity has increased by nearly 5% so far this year compared to the same time period last year.
Over the past week, private jets recorded over 78,000 total departures.
According to WingX, Week 18 recorded 4% more flights than the same week last year.
Additionally, the 78,543 departures represented a 2% increase from the previous week.
It continues private aviation’s stellar performance in 2026.
Through May 3, 2026, worldwide private jet departures were tracking 4.6% ahead of 2025.
That compares to year-over-year gains at the same point last year of 2.6%, comparing 2025 versus 2024.
So far, in 2026, on a year-over-year basis, the scorecard shows:
According to WingX analysts, there were a total of 78,543 private jet departures worldwide last week.
This is a slight increase compared to last week, but represents a significant 4% increase over week 18 of 2025.
Over the past four weeks, private jets have recorded 314,804 departures, a 5% increase from the same period last year.
Nick Koscinski, a WingX analyst, spoke with Private Jet Card Comparisons about the ongoing trends worldwide.
Koscinski stated,
‘Week 18 continues the trend we’ve been seeing all year, with global bizjet demand holding strong at +4.6% year-to-date and continues to reinforce what we keep seeing: whether it’s record fuel prices or conflict outbreaks, bizjet demand remains intact.’
North America continues to account for the majority of private jet flights worldwide.
According to WingX, North America recorded 57,010 private jet flights.
This represents a 5% year-over-year jump.
Additionally, the United States recorded 55,000 of these flights, a 5% year-over-year increase.
This was largely driven by large markets in the US, with Florida recording a 10% year-over-year increase and California a 6% increase.
These 55,000 flights also represent a 3% week-over-week increase, largely led by Florida, seeing 5% more flights than last week.
Additionally, major US cities continue to see strong year-over-year growth.
Year-to-date, many of these cities have seen double-digit increases compared to the same period last year.
Miami, Florida; San Francisco, California; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Fort Lauderdale, Florida have all seen double-digit year-over-year gains.
Other cities also saw strong year-over-year growth.
Houston, Texas, saw an 8.8% increase, Los Angeles, California, saw a 9.3% increase, and Phoenix, Arizona, saw a 7.9% year-over-year increase.

Europe recorded a slightly better week than North America did.
The region recorded over 10,500 flights, which represents a 7% year-over-year increase.
The region saw one of its strongest weeks yet last week, but private jet flight activity remained relatively flat week over week.
Several countries see double-digit year-over-year increases, including Germany and Italy.
Additionally, the Middle East continued to struggle with private jet flights.
The region recorded only 1,194 flights, a 29% year-over-year drop.
Private jet flight activity dipped slightly in other popular regions, with both Africa and Asia seeing year-over-year declines.
According to WingX, over the past week, Part 91K and Part 135 operators recorded 41,422 flights worldwide.
This was a relatively strong week for the region, representing an 8% year-over-year increase. This was also a step up from last week, as the industry recorded 4% more flights.
North America remains the biggest region for fractional and charter operations, recording a total of 32,248 flights.
The US saw nearly 32,000 total flights, a 11% year-over-year increase.
Double-digit increases largely drove the rise in fractional and charter flights in Florida and Texas.
California also recorded a 6% year-over-year jump in Part 91K and Part 135 flights.

Europe also saw a strong week for fractional and charter operations.
The region recorded 7,202 Part 91K and Part 135 flights, a 3% year-over-year increase.
This was largely due to double-digit increases by both Germany and Italy.
Additionally, the region saw a 5% week-over-week increase.
However, several countries saw slight week-over-week drops, including Germany and Switzerland.
The Middle East continued to struggle with Part 91K and Part 135 flights, seeing 50% fewer departures.
Additionally, both Africa and Asia saw slight year-over-year declines, while South America saw a 22% increase.
