Sentient Jet is enabling customers to buy jet cards with cryptocurrency.

Payments are through BitPay, the large blockchain payment processor.

Payment options include Bitcoin, Ethereum, and leading U.S. dollar-backed stablecoins from Circle and PayPal.

All cryptocurrency payments will be processed through BitPay and settled in U.S. dollars.

The new facility enables Sentient Jet to offer this payment method to members without holding digital assets directly.

According to the announcement, “The partnership marks the latest step in Sentient Jet’s commitment to making air travel more seamless – building on the company’s legacy as the inventor of the jet card, the first to introduce automated text-to-book technology, and a leader in sustainability across private aviation.”

The company says, “By integrating BitPay’s cryptocurrency infrastructure, Sentient Jet continues to innovate in meeting the needs of our clients while maintaining the trusted experience the brand is known for.”

President Alan Walsh says, “Sentient Jet has built its reputation by innovating how people travel privately, whether it’s through inventing the jet card model, introducing the simplicity of booking via text, or advancing sustainability initiatives.”

He adds, “Across private travel, we’re seeing experiences evolve to reflect how people make the most of their time, and move through the world on their own terms.”

Walsh says, “We continually partner with our clients to achieve this by providing thoughtful choice in communication options.”

Over 250 companies use the company payment.

The list includes Home Depot, Autozone, Abercrombie & Fitch, Princess Cruises, and Burger King, according to the BitPay website.

BitPay CMO Bill Zielke says, “We’re proud to partner with Sentient Jet, a brand recognized for shaping the future of private aviation.”

He continues, “As digital currencies become a preferred form of payment among luxury consumers, organizations offering cryptocurrency as a payment option often see increased transaction sizes as customers enjoy the flexibility and security of digital payments. Sentient Jet’s adoption of cryptocurrency is a large step for the private aviation industry.”

Reducing Friction

Walsh tells Private Jet Card Comparisons the decision to add cryptocurrency payments continues the company’s focus on reducing friction.

It has been a leader in booking technology, including the introduction of text-to-book.

Sentient Jet is part of Flexjet, Inc.

It is the first North American unit to offer crypto payments.

Its European charter unit, FXAir, has been accepting crypto since 2014.

According to the announcement, “This integration represents another step in Sentient Jet’s mission to simplify and elevate every aspect of private travel.”

However, Walsh says the goal is to meet customers where they prefer.

For example, you can still fax booking requests.
