There will be over 1,000 private jets departing and arriving in the San Francisco Bay Area this weekend for Super Bowl LX.

Kickoff is 3:30 pm local time at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

The NFL championship game matches the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.

Super Bowls & Private Jets

The two teams met in Super Bowl XLIX in 2015.

The Patriots won that game 28-24.

It was played at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

WingX data shows there were 500 departures from local airports the day after that game.

In the 10 Super Bowls since, seven have seen more day-after departures, while three have seen fewer.

In 2023, there were over 900 day-after departures, according to WingX.

The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35.

That game was also played at State Farm Stadium.

Super Bowl Letdowns

The Seahawks won their lone Super Bowl in 2014.

That game, played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, just across the Hudson River from New York City, saw just over 200 day-after private jet departures.

Super Bowl Private Jet Activity By Year (2006 to 2025)

Super Bowl private jet activity

There were only two other Super Bowls that saw fewer than 400 day-after departures in the past 20 years.

Denver beat Carolina 24-10 at Levi’s Stadium in 2016.

Kansas City beat San Francisco 31-20 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

New England won its last Super Bowl at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta in 2019.

There were 600 day-after departures following the Patriots’ 13-3 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

In 2017, the Pats beat the Atlanta Falcons in overtime in Houston with around 650 day-after departures.

Behind 2023, 2011 saw the most day-after Big Game private jet departures.

That Super Bowl saw the Green Bay Packers edge the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, near Dallas.

Super Bowl LX Airports

This weekend, private jet flyers will use five airports in the San Francisco Bay Area.

A spokesperson for Flexjet says it will have “full operational support” at San Francisco International Airport, Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport, Moffett Federal Airfield, Hayward Executive Airport, and San Jose Mineta International Airport.

San Jose is closest at just 4.9 miles from Levi’s Stadium. SJC is the 21st busiest private jet airport in the U.S.

Moffett is 7.1 miles from the stadium.

Hayward Airport is 25.7 miles away.

SFO is 29.4 miles up the road.

OAK is 32.3 miles away.

WingX expects more than 600 departures for the day after the Super Bowl this year.

Flexjet says requests and reservations are ahead of last year, when New Orleans served as the host location.

Philadelphia beat Kansas City 40-22.

It says flight activity for Super Bowl LX should “meet or exceed” the Chief’s 2024 win over San Francisco in Las Vegas and the record levels recorded by WingX in 2023.

NetJets has 211 flights for the Las Vegas Super Bowl, according to WingX.

NetJets and Flexjet

Flexjet said it is operating nearly 30% more flights into Bay Area airports this week than during the same week in 2025, when the area wasn’t hosting the event.

The destination impacts flights in and out.

Some flyers are opting to combine football with vines and will pre-game in the Napa-Sonoma wine region.

The company said its operations team “spends months preparing for major event‑driven fly‑ins, securing arrival and departure slots, managing FAA Traffic Management Initiatives, and coordinating on‑site teams at every airport.”

Flexjet is adding a pop-up private terminal at OAK, which will include “a Flexjet-exclusive lounge, dedicated aircraft parking, priority line service with a dedicated fuel truck.”

Yes, folks sometimes have to wait around for fueling.

NetJets President Patrick Gallagher posted on social media, “Preparations for this weekend’s Big Game began months ago at NetJets.”

He said, “It starts with strategic planning, careful coordination, and a lot of teamwork!”

Gallagher added, “As one of our industry’s busiest travel weekends, we’re prepping for high demand with our on-site support teams ready to assist football fans at Oakland, San Francisco Bay, and other nearby airports.”

Gallagher said this year, “We will easily surpass last year’s number, but the goal every NetJets team member in the air and on the ground is to make each flight feel like our only one.”
