FlyHouse CEO Jack Lambert taking new role

Executive Chairman Sanford Michelman will assume CEO responsibilities for 1-2 years as Lambert goes to a yet-to-be defined role.

FlyHouse CEO Jack Lambert has stepped down from his CEO position.

Lambert had been CEO since January 2023.

The company has not announced the move externally.

However, Executive Chairman Sanford Michelman and Lambert informed staff in back-to-back emails yesterday, obtained by Private Jet Card Comparisons.

Michelman confirmed the move.

He will take on the CEO responsibilities for the next one to two years, he says.

Lambert will remain affiliated with the company; however, his role has not yet been defined.

Michelman credited Lambert for building awareness of the start-up in the industry.

In the email to staff, Michelman wrote, “From the earliest days of FlyHouse, we adopted a strategy of building our reputation from the ‘inside out’ – earning the trust and support of industry partners first, then leveraging that foundation to expand consumer awareness and demand.”

Michelman continued:

‘Jack played an important role in helping us execute that strategy. Through his industry relationships, visibility, and advocacy for the FlyHouse brand, he helped establish awareness of our company during a critical stage of our growth. In fact, many of the relationships we enjoy today, and even some of the talented people who have joined our team, can be traced back to those early efforts. Jack’s unique style, enthusiasm, and passion for aviation are clear, and his impact is indelible.’

Michelman says Lambert’s decision to step down as CEO comes as FlyHouse enters its next phase.

He said, “We are entering a new chapter focused on scaling consumer engagement, expanding market presence, and building on the foundation that has been created over the past several years.”

Michelman says Lambert first approached him a year ago about moving into a new role.

Lambert wrote in a separate email, “Building FlyHouse alongside all of you has been one of the great privileges of my career,” adding, “What started as a strategy on a proverbial whiteboard, where we would earn trust from the inside-out, became a real brand with a real reputation.”

Lambert said, “The decision to step back is one I’ve thought about for some time, and I make it with complete confidence in where FlyHouse is headed.”

He added, “I’ve watched this executive group operate up close, and I can tell you the company is in extraordinary hands.”

Lambert concluded, “While I am leaving, I am not going…you will see me saying hello from time to time and flying the FlyHouse flag everywhere I go!”

Michelman says the move was planned, but not the specific timing.

Lambert was CEO of Jet Access for 17 years before joining FlyHouse.

After integrating Sun Air, which it acquired last year, Michelman expects to rebrand as FlyHouse in the next several months.

The current FAA register of charter operators and aircraft lists 11 private jets.

That’s up from nine before the purchase.

The current fleet includes five large cabin Gulfstream Jets.

There are currently three aircraft on its Golden West Airlines charter certificate.

Michelman says Sun Air will be its primary certificate moving forward.

However, he says, the crux of FlyHouse is its instant booking platform, which features over 2,300 aircraft from third-party operators.

Michelman says FlyHouse has achieved “70% of its annual goal already.”

An investor presentation from backer Benevolent Capital in March projected 2026 revenue at $420 million.

Benevolent told potential investors, “The way to think about FlyHouse is that for the consumer, it is Uber for private jets (download the app and charter a private jet) and for the plane owner, it is AirBnB for private jets (list your plane on the platform for free and decide what to charge, where it flies, how many passengers, etc. and only pay a percentage of the booking).”

In March, it bought Jets MRO to support aircraft owners.

FlyHouse launched in 2021.
