Elevate Jet relocates MRO operations to Florida and Texas

Seeking better business climates, Elevate Jet intends to relocate its maintenance, repair, and overhaul operations to Florida and Texas.

Elevate Jet announced the relocation of its maintenance operations to Florida, with a second base to open in Texas.

The relocation, as explained by a press release, is driven by the company’s desire for “deep talent pools, favorable tax environments, and pro-business regulatory climates.”

The company also wants to co-locate with its fleet, and is driven by Elevate’s aircraft management and corporate shuttle programs.

Main reasons

Elevate Jet, notable for its instant-booking app and founded in 1995, is headquartered in Miami Beach.

Their current, primary MRO facility is in Salt Lake City, Utah.

“As our clients have relocated from cities such as Los Angeles and New York toward more friendly locales,” said Greg Raiff, CEO and founder of Elevate Jet, in a press release, “We have experienced a similar shift in the private aviation markets we serve.”

Raiff continued:

“It makes sense for our maintenance and technical operations to be based where our clients clearly want to be.”

The company further announced that it would expand its Southeast U.S. footprint with a second MRO base.

The second base would open in Texas and support clients in the Houston, Dallas, and Austin areas.

Context for corporate relocations

This follows a nationwide trend of companies moving Southeast, away from cities like New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

Florida and Texas, which have received the most corporate relocations, offer some of the lowest tax burdens in the U.S.

Also, companies often prefer the warmer climates and talent pools in these states.

However, corporate relocations can also have unintended side effects, such as raising the housing prices of nearby communities.

Elevate Jet acquired Keystone Aviation and the previous locations in 2022.

It rebranded Keystone to Elevate in 2023.

Elevate Jet launched a fixed-rate jet card last December.

Sister Private Jet Services Group focuses on ad hoc charter flights, sports teams, and live entertainment movements.
