Cessna Citation Ascend

The Cessna Citation Ascend was originally announced at the European Business Aviation Association (EBACE) industry conference in May 2023. Rather than replacing the Citation XLS series outright, it offers major upgrades to the platform. The Citation Ascend began its flight testing program in early 2025 before achieving type certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in November 2025. Additionally, deliveries of the Citation Ascend began in late 2025, although NetJets became the first fleet customer in early May 2026.

The Citation Ascend fits firmly in the midsize business jet class. This aircraft has a cabin height of 5 feet, a cabin width of 5.6 feet, and a cabin length of 18.6 feet. The Citation Ascend can accommodate up to 12 passengers. Additionally, the baggage compartments have a volume of 90.2 cubic feet and a maximum weight of 800 pounds.

The Citation Ascend is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW545D turbofan engines, each of which provides the aircraft with 4,218 pounds of thrust. These powerful engines help the aircraft achieve a maximum cruise speed of 441 knots and a maximum range of 2,100 nautical miles. The aircraft also has a maximum takeoff weight of 20,500 pounds and a maximum operating altitude of 45,000 feet.

The Citation Ascend is listed between $17 million and $19 million for a new aircraft, depending on the configuration.
