Airstream Jets adds WiFi guarantee for Gold level jet cards

Previously jet card members had to pay a surcharge to ensure WiFi on their flights

Gold level members of Airstream Jets’ Distance Card will now have guaranteed WiFi. It’s applicable when they book midsize, super-midsize and large cabin private jets. Previously there was a 5% surcharge.

Gold membership entails a deposit of $100,000 for flights and $7,500 to cover the 7.5% Federal Excise Tax.

The top-level jet card customers will also be guaranteed aircraft delivered in the year 2000 or later.

Silver membership is priced at $25,000, plus FET.

Unlike other jet cards that use the actual or estimated flight time to price flights, Airstream Jets uses miles.

Mileage-based Jet Card Pricing

Customers simply reference a grid divided by aircraft size. There are very light jet, light jet, midsize jet, super-midsize jet, or large cabin jet options. Cross-reference the type of aircraft you want by flight mileage.

You then multiply the cost per mile indicated in the grid times total number of miles for your flight, and voila, your price.

A 1,000-mile flight on a light jet is $14 per mile (see grid above). Multiply $14 by 1,000 miles, so your cost is $14,000.

There is no taxi time to add, and the prices don’t include the 7.5% FET which was collected when you signed up.

There are also four 5% stackable discounts if you book at least 14 days in advance, being flexible on departure date, qualifying roundtrips and flights to or from designated ‘hub’ airports.

Last year, Airstream introduced its first app. It automatically calculates surcharges for flights to the Caribbean and Mexico as well as peak days.
