In addition to its aircraft specific jet cards and pay-as-you-go memberships, Magellan Jets is adding a light jet category jet card programs
Magellan Jets is adding another product to its extensive lineup of jet cards and memberships. The Boston-based private jet charter broker now has a light jet category jet card.
Jet cards start at 25 hours, while memberships entail an annual fee, but then flights are billed on a pay-as-you-go basis, so you don’t need to make a deposit.
The new Light Access Card is pegged at $5,425 per hour, plus Federal Excise Tax or $135,625. It sits below the CJ3/CJ4 at $5,550, plus FET, and above the Explorer membership. Explorer pegs light jets at $5,300 per hour, plus FET.
Magellan Jets offers jet card members the ability to buy deicing insurance. You can also upgrade on a per-trip basis with no interchange fees.
Membership carries 90-minute daily minimums. Its jet cards carry 120-minute minimums. However, users can fly one-third of their hours at 60 minute daily minimums, including taxi time.
No changes to booking lead time
Its jet cards have industry-leading eight hours’ non-peak call-outs. Memberships carry a 12 to 24 hours’ lead-time for non-peak bookings.
Magellan Jets president Anthony Tivnan says the company is holding firms on not expanding the lead-time to book flights. However, he has been encouraging clients to book as far in advance as possible.
“Our customers know that it helps to book their flights in advance when they can. We are seeing clients book for the holidays and even into 2021. They know they can cancel within days of departure. So they help us, and it enables us to provide guaranteed rates on short notice for the times they need it,” Tivnan tells Private Jet Card Comparisons.
A recent analysis for notice to book fixed-rate jet card flights saw the lead time rise from 29 to 44 hours in the past two months.
Other semi-specific aircraft jet cards include the Citation Excel/XLS, Hawker 800/900XP, Gulfstream 200/280, Citation X, Challenger 300/350, Challenger 604/605, Gulfstream GIV/GIVSP, and Gulfstream G450/G550.
