Jet Aviation stops light, midsize jet card sales; launches global program

By Doug Gollan, November 5, 2021

General Dynamics’ Jet Aviation is continuing to sell super-mid and large-cabin jet cards while putting a stop on light and midsize jet card sales

Add Jet Aviation to the list of jet card sellers that have curtailed sales to new clients. However, there’s a twist.

The unit of General Dynamics is stopping light and midsize jet cards. However, it’s continuing to accept new clients who want its fixed-rate super-midsize and large-cabin offerings.

The move comes as the industry copes with record demand and supply chain issues putting stress on the system.

“Jet Aviation continues to serve our customer’s needs in the jet card market and is committed to providing customers with a choice,” Elouisa Dalli, SVP Global Marketing & Communications, tells Private Jet Card Comparisons.

The Zurich-based marketing boss adds, “Due to current capacity, we have temporarily paused the sale of our light jet and mid-cabin class cards to ensure we can continue to deliver the best customer experience and service possible. We continue to have availability for the super mid and large jet cabin class cards.”

Super midsize and large-cabin jet card customers can downgrade to midsize and light jets as available.

Jet Aviation also extended call-outs from 10 to 48 hours non-peak and 210 hours on peak days. There is no surcharge on peak days.

There are still around 40 providers selling fixed or capped rate jet cards in the U.S.

Jet Aviation Freedom Access

The management company recently launched Freedom Access Program. It’s a hybrid approach of block charter and jet card access with service anywhere in the world.

Its PT Card is focused on travel within the Continental U.S. and North America. Freedom Access offers a hybrid approach of block charter and jet card access with service anywhere in the world.
