Flexjet is building its profile in Europe sponsoring the 37th Snow Polo World Cup. The event will be held on the frozen lake of St. Moritz from January 28 through the 31st. It is expected to draw over 15,000 spectators.
The seller of jet cards has been a sponsor of the Aspen World Snow Polo Championship in the past.
Flexjet has been expanding its promotions in Europe. Over the summer it highlighted sister helicopter operator Halo Aviation by sponsoring the helipad at Royal Ascot.
After Covid-related delays, Flexjet launched its fractional share program in Europe in late 2020. It then added a jet card early last year.
In announcing the sponsorship, the Cleveland, Ohio-based operator noted St. Moritz is the birthplace of the Winter Olympics. Its European headquarters are based in London.
For Covid preparation, Flexjet advises, “While spectators will not need to wear face masks at the parties or the VIP tent, everyone attending the outdoor spaces will be required to show proof of full vaccination against or recovery from COVID-19 via a valid Swiss or European COVID pass and a photo ID at the entrance. For indoor spaces, the same full vaccination or recovery proof is required in addition to a valid negative PCR or rapid antigen test (unless the latest vaccination or recovery was less than 4 months prior to the event).”
Samedan Airport is about five miles from St. Moritz.
In Europe, Flexjet offers the Praetor 600 and Legacy 500.
