Jet card and charter broker Jettly is enabling customers to buy and sell unused seats on private jet flights.
Charter broker and platform Jettly has launched a new feature that allows customers to crowdsource unused seats and sell them to other members.
Clients can offer unused seats to other fliers after booking.
Once a seat is sold, the flight cannot be canceled or changed.
There is also no flex time if you are running late.
Many charter flights and jet cards offer a one-hour grace period.
Under the new program, each passenger is allowed a combined luggage limit of 40 pounds.
If Jettly successfully sells unused seats, you receive credits for future flights.
The company says, “This new feature is designed to help you maximize the value of every flight, so whether you’re traveling solo or with a smaller group, you can offset your costs by filling those extra seats.”
Users choose the crowdsourcing option after booking their flights.
While over one-third (35.8%) of Private Jet Card Comparisons subscribers say they are interested in shared flights, less than 10% had used jet sharing or by-the-seat private jet services in the past year.
Vista Global’s XO and Wheels Up allow fliers to sell and buy unused seats.
Independent websites SharedCharter and Katana also offer crowdsourcing of charter flights.
Jet Linx also offered a jet-sharing option for its jet card and aircraft management program members. However, it dropped the service in early 2023.
