Hurricane Milton pushed Florida to a year-over-year 18% drop in private jet departures during Week 41, according to the latest WingX data.
Private jet flight activity increased 3% week-to-week in Week 41, boosting to 731,121 segments.
However, those numbers fell 3% short of 2023’s activity.
WingX Managing Director Richard Koe says, “Global business jet activity was blunted by Hurricane Milton last week, principally in the busiest U.S. state, Florida. European business jet activity is slipping back, particularly in France. Bizjet activity in the Middle East is also wilting under the weight of regional conflict.”
In the U.S., flying (51,770 segments) dropped two points as Florida activity fell 18% with 4,914 departures.
However, Tampa, Sarasota, and Fort Myers saw increases.
Europe (10,771 segments) was 2% under 2023 for the week ending Oct. 13th.
Meanwhile, the Middle East (-13%) and Africa (-19%) have continued double-digit declines over the four-week trailing.

Charter and fractional operators saw a 1% drop in Week 41 year-over-year with 37,947 segments.
U.S. activity (27,976 segments) was flat year-over-year despite a 16% drop in Florida.
