Utah-based preowned fractional SkyShare has launched a PC-12-only program starting at $220,000 for a 1/16th-share.
Preowned fractional SkyShare has added a third, lower-priced fractional ownership option, rebranded one of its existing programs, and expanded its mid-tier offering with more aircraft options.
Founder and CEO Cory Bengtzen says the addition is part of the Utah-based flight provider’s focus on “people and businesses looking to take advantage of private flight at a much more attractive price point.”
The new program is posted on SkyShare’s website.
Bengtzen says a formal announcement will be made this week during the National Business Aviation Association’s conference in Las Vegas.
Research by the Utah-based company earlier this year found that “cost is the primary obstacle for many entrepreneurs and executives considering private flight.”
In May, it added a financing option.
The new program SFX-12 is a Pilatus PC-12-only program.
Like all its options, it is day-based.
It offers 20 days of access with the purchase of a 1/16th share, 40 days at a 1/8th share, 60 days at a 3/16th share, and 80 days at a 1/4 share.
The one-way rate is $2,700 per hour, plus fuel and FET.
The roundtrip rate is $1,500 per hour on the same basis.
The program targets Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming customers.
The 1/16th share is $220,000 for PC-12 aircraft, 41% less than the previous starting point.
SFX has been rebranded as SFX-Jet.
It offers guaranteed access to the Citation CJ2s, Excels, and Gulfstream G200s in addition to the PC-12.
SFX +, based on fractional ownership in a preowned G450, has guaranteed access to the entire fleet.
“When we launched our SFX+ program in April, we knew we were revolutionizing private flight. However, we realized we were only scratching the surface of our goal to make private flights more accessible. Our Pilatus PC-12 aircraft comprise almost half the total flights we operate; customers have asked us for more of an entry-level program focused on just the Pilatus. SFX-12 saves around one million dollars compared to our closest industry competitor. Our innovative approach is a game-changer for people and businesses looking to take advantage of private flights at a much more attractive price point,” says Bengtzen.
The move comes during a shifting market for turboprop programmatic offerings in the Western U.S.
In May 2023, Wheels Up announced that it would withdraw from the region.
It now only offers its King Air jet card program in the eastern U.S. and parts of Texas.
At the same time, PC-12 fractional PlaneSense has moved to extend its primary service area to the Pacific Ocean, including opening a support facility near Las Vegas.
More recently, it added a national 25-hour guaranteed availability jet card program.
It also brought its PC-24 jet program nationally this summer.
Meanwhile, Orange County, California-based West Coast Aviation Services recently opened fractional shares in its preowned King Air program at 37.5 hours per year.
Previously, the starting point had been 75 hours.
