Private jet charter broker Linear Air published its completion and on-time stats in response to a challenge from Wheels Up.
Wheels Up’s challenge for other private jet flight providers to publish performance statistics has prompted a response from Linear Air.
Last week, the boutique broker emailed customers and prospects, writing, “During their latest investor call, Wheels Up announced their Q3 performance statistics. In an interview…they challenged their competition to publish their performance results.”
Wheels Up CEO George Mattson has challenged competitors to publish their numbers.
Linear’s email followed with “challenge accepted.”
According to its email, Linear Air matched Wheels Up’s completion rate of 98%.
It posted an 88% on-time performance within “15 minutes of departure.”
Wheels Up measures on-time performance as the percentage of total flights flown that departed within 60 minutes of the scheduled time, including air traffic control, weather, maintenance, and customer delays.”
Wheels Up program members are allowed a one-hour grace period for being late.
Canceled flights and wholesale flight activity are excluded from its calculation.
Wheels Up’s on-time performance was 82% in the most recent quarter, below its target of 85%.
The Linear Air email credited Wheels Up with an 85% mark.
Linear Air has a dynamic pricing membership program.
According to the company, 91% of its customers rate the service as excellent or very good.
