Private jet flight activity in the U.S. hit an all-time record for the Memorial Day holiday beating previous highs in 2021 and 2022.
Worldwide private jet flight activity (74,031) slipped 2% sequentially in Week 21 while posting a 10% year-over-year gain.
If you are keeping score, that means for 2025, the market has seen 17 weeks of gains, two weeks of flat performance, and just two weeks of losses.
Tariffs have seemingly not impacted private jet flying.
In fact, year-over-year U.S. private jet departures are up since the initial announcements.
In the seven weeks since President Trump’s tariffs were announced in April, global business jet activity has increased by 3.3%.
That’s almost identical to the 3.4% YOY trend in the seven weeks prior.
Private flight activity in the U.S. has accelerated since.
U.S. domestic private jet sectors accelerated from 3.4% year-over-year growth before the tariffs to 4.1% year-over-year gains since.
WingX Managing Director Richard Koe says, “Business jet activity continues to trend upwards, with no discernible impact from economic uncertainty, except in a few countries.”
He adds, “Leisure travel is evidently strong with record private jet activity during Memorial Day weekend and at Europe’s blue ribbon business jet sporting event, the Monaco Grand Prix.”
Koe continues, “The Middle East continues to see strong bizjet demand, especially Saudi Arabia.”
Memorial Day weekend flight activity from Friday to Sunday (16,991 segments), the period preceding the Monday holiday, was the busiest on record, according to WingX.
The previous high was 16,861 in 2022.
That broke the previous high of 16,537 in 2021.
Part 135 (charter and jet cards) and 91K (fractional) departures during the holiday period (9,303) were up by 43% compared to the same holiday period in 2019.
It was the third-highest on record behind 2021 and 2022.
For the week ending May 25, 2025, U.S. segments (48,799) were up 16% year-over-year.
Texas (+17%), California (+15%), and Florida (+14%) each saw double-digit gains compared to 2024.
Europe (12,872 segments) saw a 2% year-over-year increase after a 16% week-to-week rise.

That was despite a strong turnout for the Monaco F1 Grand Prix.
