Otto Aerospace has signed Flexjet as the launch fleet customer for its windowless Phantom 3500.

Flexjet placed a firm order for 300 of the yet-to-fly private jets, which promise to be faster, more efficient, and offer shorter runway access, as well as more cabin space.

Traditional windows in the passenger cabin are replaced with high-definition digital displays that integrate real-time external views.

The two companies described it as “one of the largest aircraft orders to an OEM in business aviation history.”

The Wall Street Journal, which broke the story, pegged the value at $5.85 billion, meaning a list price of $19.5 million per aircraft.

The Phantom 3500 offers a transonic super-laminar flow architecture and cutting-edge aerodynamics.

Precision all-carbon-fiber composites will cut fuel burn by over 60%.

The new jet will utilize powerplants from Williams Aerospace.

It will have a cabin height of 6 feet, 5 inches.

The new jet is expected to seat eight to nine passengers and compete in the super-midsize segment.

It is set to take flight in 2027.

The current timetable has it entering service in 2030.
