Delta Air Lines-backed Wheels Up says it plans to grow its fleet of Embraer and Bombardier private jets.

The company says it plans to “nearly double” its Phenom 300s and Challenger 300s.

Wheels Up currently has 25 Embraer light jets and 10 super-midsize Challengers.

Wheels Up has been phasing out its legacy fleet of Citation Xs, Hawker 400s, Citation Excels, and King Air 350s.

In the most recent FAA report, Wheels Up had a total of 74 aircraft.

The decision to “significantly expand its premium jet fleet” came “following stronger-than-expected demand for its Signature membership product.”

Signature membership was launched last September.

At the same time, it will end sales of its Legacy membership on March 31, 2025.

Last December, it stopped offering guaranteed turboprop rates as part of the Legacy membership.

The current Legacy membership offers capped hourly rates on light, midsize, and super midsize jets.

Wheels Up said, “All existing member contracts will be honored through their full term, including capped rates and peak-day policies.”

Signature offers a choice of fixed hourly rates or dynamic pricing for Phenom 300s and Challenger 300s.

It also offers an expanded primary service area that covers the entire Continental U.S., as well as expanded coverage of Mexico, Canada, and the Bahamas.

‘Exceeded Our Expectations’

Chief Sales Officer Mark Briffa says, “When we introduced our fleet modernization strategy in late 2024, we asked our team and our partners to trust a direction they could not fully see yet.”

Briffa continued, “Today, they can see it,” adding, “Signature membership has exceeded our expectations; our premium aircraft are delivering a meaningfully better customer experience, and we have reached scale.”

Briffa added, “This is the right time to accelerate, and that is exactly what we are doing, as we expect to complete the fleet transition a year ahead of schedule, driven by strong market response to our new program and fleet offerings.”
