Phenom 300, Challenger 300 are busiest North America private jets

Textron Aviation took three spots among North America’s top 5 private jets and held the top spot in Europe with its Citation Excel/XLS.

The Phenom 300 and the Challenger 300 series are the most popular private jets in North America, according to data from WingX.

The data covered departures year-to-date through May 17, 2026.

Rankings were based on flight segments rather than flight hours.

In Europe, the Citation Excel/XLS platform edged out the Phenom 300 in terms of departures.

Embraer’s top-selling light jet flew 91,900 segments in North America year-to-date.

That was up 16.2% compared to the same period last year.

The Challenger 300 platform, which includes the Challenger 350 and Challenger 3500, was runner-up with 84,662 departures.

The Bombardier super-midsize jet saw 6.2% year-over-year gains.

Textron Aviation’s Cessna held the third, fourth, and fifth spots.

The Latitude placed third with 68,897 segments, up 11.4% year over year.

Its Excel/XLS platform was fourth with 62,269 segments, down 2.5%.

The CJ3 series was fifth with 42,140 segments, up 4.1% year-over-year.

Bombardier took the sixth spot with its Challenger 600 series large cabin jet.

The Challenger 600s had 34,053 departures, a 0.3% increase compared to 2025.

The Cessna 560 Encore/5/Ultra platform had 32,742 flights, down 1.7% and ranking seventh.

Gulfstream Aerospace held the eighth and ninth spots.

Its GV/500/550 platform saw 31,152 segments, up 5.8%.

Its G300/350/400/450 platform had 29,677 departures, down 2.1%.

The Hawker 800 series, popular in the charter market, ranked 10th.

There were 29,356 departures, down 4.4%.

Top European Private Jets

In Europe, Textron Aviation held the top spot with the Excel/XLS series.

Its 15,961 segments were 2.5% higher year over year.

The Phenom 300 was a close second with 15,123 departures, down 1.1%.The The The

Challenger 300 series saw the biggest year-over-year growth, up 28.6%, with 11,841 segments.

That was good for the third spot.

The PC-24 light jet from Pilatus was in fourth place.

It saw 11,421 departures, up 19.2% year over year.

The Citation Latitude rounded out the top five, up 8.4% year-over-year, with 8,811 segments.
