Despite CEO's conviction, AeroVanti ties to PlaneSmart continue

Patrick Britton-Harr’s brother Troy Britton-Harr is now running PlaneSmart, carrying on connections to AeroVanti and BrixleyXchange.

As AeroVanti founder Patrick Britton-Harr awaits sentencing after being convicted on six counts of wire fraud, connections between AeroVanti, BrixleyXchange, and Texas-based charter operator PlaneSmart apparently continue.

Federal prosecutors described AeroVanti as a “Ponzi scheme.”

However, there’s a twist at PlaneSmart.

PlaneSmart’s website now uses branding similar to AeroVanti.

Gone is longtime CEO Michael Brosler.

An email to him produced an automated response stating, “Michael Brosler is no longer with PlaneSmart! Aviation.”

Brosler wrote a letter to the judge in support of Patrick Britton-Harr back in January.

Back then, Brosler stated, “In this next chapter, we will be looking for Patrick to help with onboarding aircraft that PlaneSmart! will conform for safe and legal air transportation,” adding, “We will also be looking for him to assist with an ongoing communication effort that ensures his past clients are made whole from their prior association at AeroVanti.”

Troy Britton-Harr

According to two different people who answered the phone at PlaneSmart, Brosler’s replacement is Troy Britton-Harr, Patrick’s brother.

Patrick Britton-Harr had announced the partnership with PlaneSmart at the beginning of the year.

In an email seen by Private Jet Card Comparisons, the AeroVanti CEO wrote, “After a year of providing brokered flight options to members and servicing Top Gun Member Flight Credits successfully, AeroVanti has now structured a strategic alliance with PlaneSmart Aviation (and) Clear Star Aviation to handle all client hospitality, flight requests, scheduling, operations, and aircraft maintenance out of Addison, Texas.”

He continued, “This alliance will provide additional aircraft options for AeroVanti Members such as Cirrus SR20, SR22, Vision Jet, Pilatus PC-12s, Citation M2, Beechjet Premier, and in process a Learjet 31A.”

The current PlaneSmart website (below) touts a Cirrus aircraft program.

It reads, “Our fleet of Cirrus aircraft allows you to conveniently fly yourself to destinations across the U.S. In addition to the robust mission flexibility, our customers also enjoy the industry-leading safety, comfort, and performance features of this technologically advanced aircraft.”

PlaneSmart Cirrus Program

In May, Patrick Britton-Harr announced a PC-12 program out of Florida.

The current FAA registry of aircraft legal for charter shows PlaneSmart with a single Citation Jet and a PC-12.

FlightAware shows that both aircraft have made over a dozen flights in the past two weeks.

Troy Britton-Harr’s involvement with BrixleyXchange was cited in prosecutors’ documents leading up to his brother’s trial.

What is BrixleyXchange?

BrixleyXchange launched in late 2024 or early 2025.

It says it is “an air charter broker and acts as an agent for charters under DOT regulations.”

Patrick Britton-Harr had originally claimed he had no connection to the website when it was launched.

A BrixleyXchange presentation says it offers “superior software for aviation, jet card, and multi-asset management.”

It cites PlaneSmart Aviation as operating flights on its behalf.

PlaneSmart, BrixleyXchange

Likewise, the PlaneSmart website now prominently promotes BrixleyXchange.

It calls BrixleyXchange “a fintech platform built for business aviation that makes paying for travel and managing spend dramatically easier.”

It continues, “Fund trips, pay international vendors, handle crew and travel expenses, and keep everything organized in one place with a prepaid Mastercard and an FX payments hub designed for high-dollar aviation use.”

According to the copy, “Transactions flow in automatically, receipts and invoices can be captured on the go, and approvals/permissions keep spend controlled – so reconciliation is faster, mistakes drop, and you get real-time visibility instead of end-of-month surprises.”

Membership requires a $100,000 deposit, per the website.

Troy Britton-Harr

Bank records obtained by the government indicated that an account for BrixleyXchange was opened under the name of Troy Britton-Harr.

Troy Britton-Harr was listed as president of AeroVanti Brokerage, Inc. in an Oct. 2, 2023, filing with the State of Florida Division of Corporations.

In a pre-trial court filing, the U.S. attorney wrote, “The government has learned that Defendant (Patrick) Britton-Harr is operating another private jet chartering company called BrixleyXchange, including managing the company’s bank account in violation of his conditions of release.”

The U.S. attorney alleged, “Bank records obtained by the government indicate that an account for BrixleyXchange was opened with Piermont Bank associated with Troy Britton-Harr (Defendant Britton-Harr’s brother).”

The prosecutors said, “Between January and September 2025, approximately $1.15 million was deposited into and withdrawn from this account.”

Wiring Funds

They added, “The government has learned of two instances in which Defendant (Patrick) Britton-Harr engaged directly with others on behalf of BrixleyXchange and seemingly directed wires into and out of the business bank account.”

According to the filing, “Defendant (Patrick) Britton-Harr informed (a customer) that, though BrixleyXchange was in his brother’s name, Defendant Britton-Harr participated in the business and shared in its profits.”

The customer had wired $216,000 to BrixleyXchange for the purchase of a private jet.

The government alleged, “the plane at issue—a Cessna Citation Excel aircraft—was not for sale despite whatever representations were made.”

Prosecutors said, “Rather, according to the agreement sent by Defendant Britton-Harr, the individual was offered an opportunity to purchase a ‘partnership’ in a lease of the plane for approximately $300,000, though the owner of the plane had not consented to any such arrangement.”

Patrick Britton-Harr corresponded with the plane’s owner via the email address info@brixleyxchange.com.

Private Jet Card Comparisons had reported on the connection between Britton-Harr and BrixleyXchange over a year earlier, in January 2025.

AeroVanti Debts

A former AeroVanti executive estimated the program may have run up as much as $50 million in debts.

Both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Chicago Cubs sued AeroVanti for unpaid sponsorships.

Members of its Top Gun club, which was the subject of the criminal prosecution, lost $15 million.

Patrick Britton-Harr faces a second trial this Fall.

This one is for allegedly billing the government for tests that weren’t administered and weren’t necessary.

Neither Brosler nor Troy Britton-Harr responded to requests for comment.
