Private jets around the world reversed three straight weeks of YoY declines by posting a 2% YoY increase this past week.
Global private jet activity rebounded over the past week after suffering three straight year-over-year declines.
In the week ending on August 9, 2026, private jets around the world recorded over 78,000 total departures.
This was enough to record a 2.3% year-over-year jump compared to week 32 of last year.
A 4% gain in U.S. flights powered the increase.
Even so, this was still a slight drop from last week, down about 1%.
So far, in 2026, on a year-over-year basis, the scorecard shows:
According to WingX analysts, global private jets recorded approximately 78,074 total departures.
This marks the first time in the last three weeks that WingX has reported a year-over-year increase.
Nick Koscinski, WingX Analyst, spoke with Private Jet Card Comparisons about the recent recovery of private aviation activity.
Koscinski said:
‘After three straight weeks of declines, it’s good to see the market with some growth last week, moving the year-to-date trend back near +4%. This upcoming week we’ll be keeping an eye on the FedEx St. Jude Championship to see what type of surge it brings to the Memphis metro area.’
The recent bump in global private jet activity helped to recover the positive year-to-date trend.
Currently, private jets have recorded approximately 3.8% more departures year-to-date than during the same period last year.
Additionally, over the past four weeks, private jets worldwide have logged nearly 320,000 flights.
This is good for a 2% year-over-year change from the same four weeks last year.
Private jet activity in North America bounced back after a few down weeks, recording a total of 55,284 departures.
The United States was responsible for around 53,000 of these flights, representing a 4% year-over-year jump.
Both California and Texas recorded 7% year-over-year jumps.
Additionally, the U.S. saw 1% growth compared to last week, overcoming a slight 1% drop in Florida.
Major city pairs continue to dominate private jet flight activity.
Las Vegas to Los Angeles has the most private jet departures year-to-date, with over 8,000 flights. This is a 6.4% increase compared to last year.
Additionally, the Los Angeles-to-San Francisco and Miami-to-New York routes are posting double-digit year-to-date increases in private jet flights.
Over the past week, Europe recorded nearly 13,000 total private jet departures.
This was a slight 1% increase compared to week 32 of 2025.
Germany saw the biggest drop in flights, recording 8% fewer flights than last year.
