The jet operator opened the terminal at a ceremony earlier today, which will be for client hospitality, luxury, and offices for company staff.
Earlier today, FlexJet opened its new private terminal at Farnborough Airport (EGLF) in the U.K.
The terminal cost $34 million and covers 2,098 square meters.
The terminal is exclusively for FlexJet clients and provides hospitality and a more comfortable environment than traditional FBOs.
Farnborough Airport is the largest business aviation airport in the U.K. and is located in Rushmoor, Hampshire, England.
The airport is 45 miles southwest of London.
FlexJet first broke ground in September 2024.
“This opening establishes one of the most significant branded luxury environments in private
aviation,” said Ken Ricci, FlexJet chairman, at a ceremonial event at the terminal’s opening earlier today.
Ricci went on to say:
‘It is our most ambitious infrastructure completion to date, beyond our North American headquarters. A Flexjet flight is already an unrivalled experience, with world-class aircraft, truly artisan interiors and five-star cabin hospitality that raise the bar in our industry. But this remarkable facility is a testament to how aircraft ownership with Flexjet extends far beyond the cabin, unlocking a lifestyle defined by exceptional convenience, effortless access and enriching experiences the world over.’
Carver Hain, a Canadian design firm, designed the terminal, which includes several unique design features inspired by private aviation.
The terminal features a lounge modeled after the fuselage of a Gulfstream G700, a bar, a sculpture by artist David Spriggs, and private meeting spaces.
Farnborough Airport will provide security, with offices for FlexJet staff on the upper floor and an expanded training center for the company’s flight attendants.
Environmental features will include 138 solar panels.
They are expected to generate 37,848 kWh annually, along with a drainage system to collect and recycle rainwater.
The terminal’s hospitality reflects FlexJet’s focus on luxury travel, as seen in prior partnerships with other luxury brands such as Formula One and Maybourne.
In addition to the new terminal, FlexJet recently opened a new MRO hangar at Farnborough, spanning 3,530 square meters.
Other Flexjet-exclusive terminals are at Van Nuys (KVNY), Teterboro (KTEB), White Plains (KHPN), Dallas Love Field (KDAL), Naples, Florida (KAPF), and Van Nuys (KVNY).
Additional private terminals are in various stages of development.
Included in Bozeman (KBZN), Palm Beach (KPBI), Miami (KOPF), and Las Vegas (KLAS).
