The General Dynamics unit re-earned the NBAA Sustainable Flight Department Accreditation across all four program categories.
Gulfstream earned reaccreditation through the NBAA’s Sustainable Flight Department Accreditation Program.
The manufacturer earned credit in all four sustainability categories: flight, ground support, infrastructure, and operational activities.
With the reaccreditation, Gulfstream becomes the first OEM to hold accreditation in all four program categories, and the first OEM to earn reaccreditation.
Of the 25 accredited program members, the only other four members in all categories are corporate flight departments.
“At Gulfstream, sustainability is not a standalone initiative—it is integrated into how we operate, innovate and lead,” said Mark Burns, Gulfstream president, in a press release.
Burns continued:
‘This reaccreditation reflects the dedication of teams across our company who are driving meaningful progress, embracing continuous improvement and helping position Gulfstream and business aviation for a more sustainable future.’
For the reaccreditation, Gulfstream reached several environmental milestones compared to its 2019 baseline.
Those milestones include:
The NBAA Sustainable Flight Department Accreditation Program recognizes aviation organizations for environmental and sustainable operations.
Industry certifier 4AIR manages the program in an NBAA partnership announced in March.
“Gulfstream continues to lead by example,” said Nancy Bsales, 4AIR COO. “Showing that real sustainability leadership is built on measurable data, accountability, and continuous improvement across every part of an operation.”
Bsales continued:
‘Reducing emissions step-by-step, from flight to ground support to facilities, is how business aviation will meet its commitment to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Gulfstream’s achievement across all four accreditation categories shows the whole industry what that path looks like.’
Other accredited members include Boeing Executive Flight Operations, Clay Lacy Aviation, Embraer Executive Jets, Mente, Monarch Air, and Textron Aviation.
The General Dynamics unit once again earned NBAA Sustainable Flight Department Accreditation in all four program categories.
