Columbus, Ohio-based Jet Edge is making a big move in the super-midsize and large-cabin jet card market.
It is now offering fixed-one-way rates nationwide. Previously you had to start or end your flight within 250 miles of several big city hubs.
It is also expanding its fixed rates of $39,900 for super mids and $42,900, plus tax, for flights over four hours to any city pairs within the Continental U.S.
The KKR-backed charter operator said it plans to launch guaranteed availability by the second quarter. Currently, its fixed rates are as available.
“With new deliveries (super-midsize and large-cabin jets) expanding to 45 from the original 27 in 2021, it made sense to expand our Reserve membership program to include all U.S. markets. On the heels of the nationwide roll-out, I would also expect to see a guaranteed availability, fixed hourly subscription Challenger product..to be launched by Q2 of this year,” noted Chief Business Officer Steve Malvesta.
The announcement follows Jet Edge receiving approximately $265 million in total credit and equity investments from KKR over the last year.
Jet Edge has 20 Gulfstream and Bombardier Challenger aircraft slated to be delivered in the first half of 2022. Last year it added 27 of the types. Once this current expansion is complete, Jet Edge total fleet size will be 95 aircraft.
