Worldwide private jet flight activity was clinging within 1% of 2022, the industry’s second-best year, and cause for optimism says WingX.
Worldwide private jet flight activity (68,468 segments) dropped 1% week-to-week, putting Week 22 numbers down 1% on a year-over-year basis.
For the week ending June 2, 2024, U.S. flights (43,691 segments) were down 3% from the prior weeks.
Still, numbers were just 1% short of 2023.
European numbers (13,292 flights) were up 6% week-to-week, putting the week 2% ahead of last year.

The U.S. fractional and charter operators (23,164 flights) saw a 3% week-to-week dip, 1% down from 2023.
Europe (9,282) was up 5% from the previous week but 8% down from last year.
“Global bizjet activity was flat in Week 22, as it was for the month of May, and is trailing 2023 by just 1%, which very much reflects the mood at EBACE, tending towards normalization after the turbulence of the post-Covid years,” Wing X Managing Director Richard Koe tells us.
He adds, “There is a good deal of underlying variability, with Europe 7% above 2019, demand still hot in the Mediterranean, but tapering well below 2019 levels in Central Europe.”
Through the end of May, business jet flights were just 1% below last year and 2.6% under 2022’s record pace.
Compared to 2019, WingX data shows a 31.7% gain.
