Wheels Up unveils Phenom 300 offer

Delta Air Lines-backed Wheels Up is not wasting time in promoting its new Phenom 300 fleet to members.

Wheels Up has launched guaranteed availability on Phenom 300s just two days after announcing that it is acquiring 17 of the best-selling light jets as part of a fleet revamp.

The U.S.’s fourth-largest fractional/charter operator sent offers to members and non-members this morning.

However, it doesn’t offer capped or fixed hourly rates.

The deal does provide guaranteed recovery terms in addition to the guaranteed availability on the standard $200,000 membership terms.

Earlier this week, the Delta Air Lines-backed flight provider signaled it was entering its next turnaround phase.

It announced agreements for $332 in new financing from Bank of America, the acquisition of GrandView Aviation’s fleet of Phenoms, and plans to convert its super-midsize fleet to Challenger 300s and 350s.

All will be refurbished and rebranded in the Wheels Up livery and get state-of-the-art Gogo Wifi.

Regarding the new Phenom 300 offer, current members have to add funds.

The move to the Phenom and Challenger platforms is part of a strategy to compete with market leaders NetJets and Flexjet fractional programs offering those aircraft types with lower-commitment jet card memberships.

Over the past year, Wheels Up has been targeting Delta’s over 40,000 corporate accounts to add private flight services to the relationship.
