The UEFA Champions League final drove a 53% increase in flights to Munich as the U.S. continued to power gains in private jet flight activity.
Week 22 of 2025 (with 72,708 segments) marked the 18th week of year-over-year gains for private jet flight activity.
2025 year-over-year activity was up 4% for the week ending June 1, 2025.
Week-to-week flights were down 2%.
Of the four weeks in 2025 that were not up by at least 1%, two weeks were flat, and the other two weeks saw decreases.
However, the gains have not been universal.
With five months in the books, WingX reports that U.S. private jet segments are up 3% year-over-year for the period.
European segments year-to-date through the end of May were down 0.4%.
Year-to-date, the rest of the world has increased by 4% compared to 2024.
Saudi Arabia saw a 21.5% year-over-year gain in the first five months of 2025.
That equated to 5,597 departures.
Brazil’s 33,518 departures represented a 12% year-over-year increase.
Managing Director Richard Koe says, “Despite growing economic headwinds, which may be affecting aircraft transactions, business jet flight activity bounced up this week, with May year-over-year activity keeping pace with the strong Q1 pace for aircraft utilisation, leading operators continuing to fly at record levels.”
U.S. private jet flights (46,388 segments) were up 5% in Week 22 compared to last year.
Europe (13,672) departures increased by 3%, bolstered by a 25% increase in Germany.
The UEFA Champions League final in Munich led to a 53% increase in flights to the city.
Paris Saint-Germain F.C. won 5-0 over Inter Milan, in case you missed it.
Africa (+15%), South America (+14%), and the Middle East (+13%) all posted double-digit year-over-year gains.
Don’t get too excited.
Their combined 4,696 departures for the week are equivalent to regular activity in California or Texas.

Alas, the net was just 38 flights.
Of course, we won’t quibble.
Up is better than down.
