So far, on a year-over-year basis, the scorecard shows:
This past week, according to WingX, private jets recorded approximately 80,000 departures around the world. This was an 11% increase compared to the same week last year.
Furthermore, over the last four weeks, private jets have logged over 315,000 departures. Compared to the same time period last year, this was a 7% increase.
North America matched the global trend in private jet flight activity. Specifically, the United States saw an 11% year-over-year increase and a 9% week-over-week increase in private jet departures.
However, on Monday, November 10th, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) imposed restrictions at major airports around the US, limiting private jet operations. The 12 airports affected primarily served commercial airlines, and were implemented due to the US government shutdown that has been occurring since October 1st.
When the restrictions were implemented on November 10th, private jet departures dropped by about 29% at these major airports. In terms of private jet departures on November 10th, Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) saw a drop of 68%, John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) saw a drop of 57%, and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) saw a drop of 55%.
Additionally, metro-area airports near these major airports saw significant increases in private jet activity. While Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) saw a 21% drop in private jet activity on November 10th, the remaining Chicago metro area airports saw a 13% increase in private jet flights.
Even so, week 45 of 2025, which lasted from November 1st through the 9th, saw no apparent impact on private jet activity at these airports. The 12 major airports saw consistent growth with the global trends, seeing an 8% year-over-year increase in private jet departures over this time period.
Over the past week, Florida and Texas each saw significant jumps in private jet activity, recording a 12% and 15% increase in departures compared to last week, respectively. Additionally, California saw the largest year-over-year increase, recording 17% more flights over the same week last year.
Private jet flight departures remained strong in Europe, although the region saw a 3% drop in flights compared to last week. However, this was good enough to remain about 4% higher compared to the same week last year.
Switzerland saw a week-over-week decrease of about 6% and a year-over-year decrease of about 10%. However, many other countries showed year-over-year growth, including Germany, which saw a 5% jump, and Italy, which saw a 16% jump.
The Middle East saw just over 1,500 private jet departures over the past week, a significant decrease from last week. However, the region still saw 24% more flights than last year.
