India’s private jet charter fleet grew by 53.2% from 2023 to 2025, according to the annual Asian Sky Charter Report.

The rapid growth has made India the Asia/Pacific region’s largest charter fleet, with 121 private jets.

It moved ahead of Australia, which has 107 charter jets.

Australia also saw an upward trend with 15.1% growth.

The region’s overall private jet charter fleet grew from 362 aircraft in June 2023 to 430 at the end of June 2025.

Growth rate was 18.2%.

There were 46 charter jets in Mainland China, down by three since 2023.

Japan was fourth with 34 jets, up 41.7% from June 2023

Fifth-ranked Singapore saw its fleet grow by 14.3% to 24 aircraft.

Indonesia followed with 20 aircraft after adding three charter jets to its total.

Thailand’s charter fleet increased from 15 to 16 aircraft.

The Philippines increased its charter fleet from 14 to 15 airplanes.

Hong Kong rode a 50% increase, building its charter fleet to 12 jets.

New Zealand saw its fleet go from nine to 11 jets.

Asia/Pacific Fleet By Size

The region’s charter fleet is heavily weighted to large, ultra-long-range, and VIP airliner jets.

Nearly a quarter of charter aircraft (23.7%) are in the long-range category, with 21.2% classified as large jets.

Another 4% were VIP airliners.

One in five (20%) are light jets, 19.3% are midsize or super-midsize jets, and 11.9% are very light jets.

However, the mix varied significantly by country.

For example, 33.4% of New Zealand’s jets, 29.4% of Japan’s fleet, and 24.2% of Australia’s charter jets are in the very light jet category.

Conversely, Mainland China, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Hong Kong SAR, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Pakistan didn’t have any of the charter jets.

Only 7.4% of India’s fleet is made up of VLJs.

Over 45% of India’s charter fleet comprises VIP airlines, ultra-long-haul, and large-cabin jets.

Asia/Pacific Fleet Age

In terms of age, 52.5% of the charter fleet is more than 15 years old, with 24.4% older than 20 years.

Only 28.4% of the fleet is under 10 years.

Top Charter Operators

Only four operators had more than 10 charter jets in the region, led by Tag Aviation with 14 aircraft.

Phenix Jet has 12 aircraft, Karnavati Aviation has 12 aircraft, and VSR Ventures has 11 jets.

The report notes that a regional-based fleet isn’t tied to activity.

VistaJet rotates aircraft through the region as needed rather than maintaining a permanent base, according to the report.

Overall, 21 operators have at least five aircraft available for charter.

However, 23 operators operate 78 aircraft with three or four jets as of June 2025.
