Global private jets recorded nearly 80,000 flights over the past week, representing a jump in activity after a slow start to the year.
Over the past week, global private jet activity recorded over 77,000 total departures.
Compared to the same week last year, week 7, this represents approximately a 6% increase.
Additionally, this is also a big jump from last week, representing about 12% more flights.
Overall, 2026 has been off to a slow start, recording two down weeks and only two weeks with increases before week 7.
So far, in 2026, on a year-over-year basis, the scorecard shows:
According to WingX analysts, private jets worldwide recorded 77,196 total departures.
This was a 6% year-over-year increase and a 12% week-over-week increase.
Additionally, on a rolling-four-week basis, private jets have totaled over 282,000 flights.
This represents a 2% increase compared to the same time frame last year.
According to WingX, global private jet activity has shown about 3.2% in growth so far this year, compared to the same time frame last year.
However, this time frame last year saw a 3.9% increase compared to 2024, showing signs of slowing but sustained growth.
Nick Koscinski, a WingX analyst, spoke with Private Jet Card Comparisons about the sustained growth.
Koscinski stated:
‘Week 07 was a reminder of just how powerfully marquee events can drive business aviation demand. From the Super Bowl in California, to the Winter Olympics in Milan, and then the Munich Security Conference, each left a clear footprint of bizjet traffic. Overall, 2026 is off to a solid start, with VIP events clearly offsetting the storm-affected last weeks of January.’
Once again, the United States led the way with the most private jet departures, recording nearly 54,000 over the past week.
This represents a 6% year-over-year increase compared to week 7 of 2025, but also a 12% increase compared to last week.
Major markets across the US saw huge year-over-year jumps, including Texas, which saw a 10% increase.
Texas’s double-digit increase is most likely due to significant private jet traffic around San Antonio due to the 2026 Stock Show and Rodeo.
However, California led the way, recording nearly 6,000 flights on its own, nearly a 20% increase compared to last year. This demand was likely generated by the surge of private jet activity after the conclusion of the Super Bowl NFL Championship in Santa Clara last week.

Additionally, Europe saw just under 10,000 total private jet departures over the past week.
This represents a 4% year-over-year increase, but also a 17% week-over-week jump.
Several European countries saw significant jumps. The UK saw one of the largest, recording a 27% week-over-week increase, but still remaining about 4% down compared to last year.
Germany saw one of the largest increases, recording an 8% year-over-year jump.
This was most likely due to the 62nd Munich Security Conference that was held last week. During the 3-day conference, Munich area airports saw a 2.4x surge in private jet flights, specifically recording 165 flights compared to 69 over the same period last year.
The Olympics is another huge draw for private jet users. Because of this, Italy, which is this year’s Olympic host country, saw a 14% week-over-week increase and an astonishing 40% jump compared to the same week last year.
Private jet flight activity remained strong elsewhere in the world, as the Middle East, Africa, and Asia each saw small year-over-year increases.
However, South America noticed one of the largest jumps, recording 33% more flights than the same week last year.

Elsewhere in the world, the Middle East saw a slight increase, while Africa remained relatively flat compared to last year.
