Global private jet flight activity recorded a modest YoY increase, seeing only 1.5% more flights than week 25 of last year.
During week 25, private jets recorded over 80,000 total departures around the world.
According to WingX, this was a slight increase compared to week 25 of last year.
Over the past week, private jet flights were up 2% year over year.
Additionally, private jet flight activity remained relatively flat compared to last week.
So far, in 2026, on a year-over-year basis, the scorecard shows:
Overall, private jets recorded 80,881 total flights worldwide.
Year-to-date, private jets are recording about 3.9% more flights than the same time frame last year.
This is also a significant step up from last year’s growth trend.
At this point last year, private jets had only recorded a 2.6% jump compared to 2024.
Nick Koscinski, WingX Analyst, spoke with Private Jet Card Comparisons about the increase in private jet travel.
Koscinski stated:
‘As expected, the World Cup is bringing in a surge of bizjet traffic to nearby airports of the host cities. Although, the smaller markets are seeing a much more sizeable surge in traffic, whereas large metros like New York or LA see the extra jets just blend into an already busy month. With the knockout rounds still to come, we expect to start to see bigger spikes to follow, with the final match delivering the largest surge of them all.’
Additionally, global private jet flight activity has jumped 3% year over year over the past four weeks.
Overall, private jets have recorded nearly 315,000 total departures over the last four weeks.
Overall, the opening days of the FIFA World Cup brought a clear boost to private jet traffic across the 16 host cities in North America.
However, this surge was more pronounced in smaller markets than in the larger private jet hubs.
For example, during the USA-Australia match on June 19th, Seattle saw nearly double its daily private jet flight activity.
Additionally, Mexico City saw 170% more flights through the tournament opener.
Overall, North America recorded 56,160 total private jet departures over the past week. This was a 3.5% year-over-year increase.
The United States accounted for the majority of these flights, with 54,119 total departures. This was a 3.7% year-over-year jump.
This increase was observed across major US markets, including Florida, California, and Texas.
Even so, private jet activity remained relatively flat week-over-week.
Florida, California, and Texas each saw a 4% week-over-week drop.
However, Europe saw a slight drop from last year, recording fewer than 15,000 total flights over the past week.
This represented a 1.7% year-over-year decrease.
Switzerland saw the largest drop, recording 14.4% fewer flights, although Germany saw a double-digit increase compared to week 25 of 2025.
