Global private jet flight activity experienced a 2.7% YoY decrease in Week 29 despite a flat week in the U.S.
Over the past week, private jets around the world recorded just over 77,000 total departures.
This was a slight step back from week 29 of last year.
Overall, private jets recorded approximately 2.7% fewer flights year over year.
Beyond that, Africa was the only major region to see a year-over-year increase in flights, while the rest of the world saw fewer flights than last year.
Additionally, this was a 3% decrease from last week.
So far, in 2026, on a year-over-year basis, the scorecard shows:
According to WingX analysts, private jets accounted for 77,388 departures worldwide.
This was a nearly 3% drop compared to the same week last year.
Nick Koscinski, WingX Analyst, spoke with Private Jet Card Comparisons about recent trends in private aviation.
Koscinski stated:
‘Last week we saw our first contraction in a few weeks, while the year is still running roughly 4% ahead of 2025 traffic levels. As expected, Oshkosh is drawing a surge in bizjet traffic, with the ramp almost 12x the normal occupancy and potentially more jets to come.’
On a rolling four-week basis, private jets have recorded nearly 314,000 total flights.
This was a 2% year-over-year increase.
Additionally, the slight year-over-year drop this week contributed to a 0.2 percentage-point reduction in the year-to-date trend.
Even so, private jets are seeing about 3.7% more flights year-to-date than last year.
North America saw a slight contraction over the past week, seeing 0.7% fewer flights than the same week last year.
Overall, the United States accounted for 51,985 private jet flights.
This was relatively flat compared to last year.
Even so, Texas saw a strong week, recording 8% more flights than week 29 of last year.
However, California experienced a 5% year-over-year drop.
Additionally, this week is EAA AirVenture, an annual week-long aviation convention held in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Typically, Wittman Regional Airport (OSH), the local regional airport in Oshkosh, sees about 10 private jets parked.
However, during the opening Monday of AirVenture, OSH saw 48 total private jets parked at the airport.
WingX analysts expect this trend to continue throughout the week. In 2025, the ramp at OSH peaked at 64 private jets.
Private jet travel in Europe struggled over the past week, as the region recorded 14,456 total flights.
This was a 6% year-over-year decrease. Double-digit decreases largely led this in Italy and the UK, while France also recorded a 9% drop.
