After two consecutive weeks of flat activity, global private jet flight activity took a slight YoY dip of about 1%.
During week 39 of 2026, which ended September 27th, private jets recorded nearly 80,000 total departures.
This is about 1% fewer flights than the same week last year.
Additionally, private jet flight activity dipped about 6% week over week after several weeks of flat activity.
So far, in 2026, on a year-over-year basis, the scorecard shows:
According to WingX analysts, private jets flew 79,475 flights worldwide over the past week.
The previous two weeks recorded relatively flat year-over-year activity, but private jet flight activity has now dipped below that trend, down 1% year over year.
This slight year-over-year decline contributed to the year-to-date trend, which now sits at 3.4% ahead of the same time frame last year.
This is about 0.3 percentage points less than the comparable trend from 2024 to 2025.
Nick Koscinski, WingX analyst, spoke with Private Jet Card Comparisons about the most recent year-over-year decrease.
Koscinski stated:
‘Global activity slipped about 1% last week, so after a couple of flat weeks we’ve had a small step down, though the year-to-date trend is still holding up at +3.4%. Africa was the standout again at +46%, but that’s off a small base, so I would take it simply as a strong week. With key states Florida and Texas both up on the week, I’m not reading too much into North America’s slight dip.’
Overall, private jet flight activity has slowed in recent months.
However, according to WingX analysts, this may be due to a year-over-year comparison with strong months.
Last year, August recorded a 5.7% increase, and September saw a 6.3% increase in private jet flights.
As a result, August and September are being compared against two of the strongest months in 2025, which may explain the slower growth over the past few months.
October and November each saw year-over-year growth last year, so this trend is expected to continue in the coming months.
North America recorded approximately 56,370 private jet departures over the past week, a 2% year-over-year decrease.
The United States was responsible for nearly 55,000 of these flights.
This is a 2% year-over-year drop. However, both Florida and Texas, two of the largest markets, saw year-over-year gains.
Additionally, the US saw 7% fewer flights than last week, largely led by an 11% week-over-week decline in California.
Across the US, several airports have seen significant year-to-date growth compared to last year.
This includes the largest airport for private jet departures, Teterboro Airport (TEB) in Bergen County, New Jersey, which has recorded over 58,000 total departures this year. This is an 8.9% year-over-year jump.
Another popular private jet airport, Scottsdale Airport (SDL) in Arizona, saw one of the largest year-over-year jumps of about 10%.
Dallas Love Field (DAL) in Texas, Dulles International Airport (IAD) in Washington, DC, and Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport (OPF) in Florida have each recorded year-over-year jumps of over 5%.
Across the Atlantic Ocean, Europe recorded just over 13,000 total private jet departures.
This followed the global trend, with about 1% fewer flights year over year.
Even so, the UK, France, and Switzerland each recorded year-over-year jumps.
Europe also saw about 3% fewer flights than last week, largely led by the UK, Switzerland, and Italy, although France recorded an 11% week-over-week jump.

The US continues to lead the fractional and charter segment, recording over 30,000 total departures.
This was about 1% fewer flights than the same week last year. However, Florida saw a 12% year-over-year jump, and Texas saw a 9% year-over-year gain.
Additionally, the US took a step back, seeing a 7% week-over-week drop. This was largely led by an 11% decline in Part 91K and Part 135 departures in California.
