Global private jet flight activity recorded back-to-back year-over-year weekly drops for the second time this year after recording a 2% dip.
Last week, private jets around the world recorded just under 77,000 total departures.
This was a slight decrease from week 30 of last year.
Overall, private jets recorded about 1.8% fewer flights year over year.
According to WingX, this marks the second time this year that private jets have recorded consecutive weeks with year-over-year declines.
Weeks 4 and 5 of this year also recorded back-to-back year-over-year decreases in flight activity.
Additionally, week 30 recorded approximately 1% fewer flights than last week.
So far, in 2026, on a year-over-year basis, the scorecard shows:
According to WingX, private jets recorded 76,946 total departures over the past week.
This was nearly 2% fewer flights than the same week last year.
Nick Koscinski, WingX Analyst, spoke with Private Jet Card Comparisons about the recent decrease in private aviation activity.
Koscinski stated:
‘Week 30 saw another week of year-on-year declines, which is the second time this year we’ve seen consecutive weeks of contractions, although activity is still healthy on a year-to-date basis. Just as we thought, the World Cup drew a surge in business jet traffic to the host cities, with the overall tournament drawing a surge of 17%, while the Final alone saw a spike of 38% into NY metro area airports.’
Over the last four weeks, private jets have flown approximately 307,725 total flights. This is still about 1% more flights than the same time frame last year.
Because of the recent decline in flights, private jets have flown about 3.5% more year-to-date. This is a slight decrease from the year-over-year trends earlier this year.
Even so, this is about a 0.7 percentage point increase from the trend for the same dates in 2025 compared to 2024.
North America saw a slight year-over-year decrease of about 1%.
The United States recorded approximately 51,159 total departures.
This is a 1% year-over-year drop and also a 2% decrease compared to last week.
This year-over-year decrease was largely led by a 7% drop in Florida and a 4% drop in California. Even so, private jet flight activity remained relatively flat in Texas, one of the U.S.’s largest private markets.
Texas also saw a large 7% drop in flights compared to last week.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup, held in North America, led to large surges in private jet activity in the region.
According to WingX analysts, private jet departures on the day before, the day of, and the day after the knockout round games accounted for approximately 17% more flights than on other days.
Several cities saw a surge in private jet flights due to popular World Cup Matches.
For example, Seattle saw 130% more flights around the USA-Belgium round-of-16 match.
Kansas City also saw a 114% increase for the Argentina-Switzerland quarterfinals matchup, and Mexico City recorded a 112% YoY increase for the Mexico-England round-of-16 matchup.
Unlike the global trend, private jet activity in Europe remained relatively flat. According to WingX, the region saw approximately 14,475 total private jet flights.
Germany recorded a 15% year-over-year decline that was mostly offset by a 12% increase in Switzerland.

This was a 3% year-over-year increase, largely led by a 9% jump in Texas.
However, this was a slight drop from last week, with about 1% fewer Part 91K and Part 135 flights.
This was represented by a 10% drop in Texas and a 9% drop in Florida.
