Bombardier Global 5500

The Global 5500 falls into the Bombardier Global Express family, which can be traced back to the early 1990s. Bombardier first introduced the Global Express based on the Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ) and Challenger 600, but featured a new wing and tail.

Over the years. Bombardier has introduced several upgrades to the aircraft. This includes a smaller variant with a shorter range, known as the Global 5000. This aircraft was introduced in the early 2000s.

The Global 5500 is the latest upgrade to the Global 5000. It was first introduced in May 2018, but the first Global 5500 was not delivered until July 2020.

The Global 5500 features a cabin with a height of 6.25 feet, a width of 8.17 feet, and a length of 42.47 feet. The cabin is typically broken into three passenger zones that can be configured and customized to the customer’s preference.

The Bombardier Global 5500 is powered by two Rolls-Royce Pearl engines. Each of these engines provides the aircraft with over 15,000 pounds of thrust, helping the aircraft achieve a maximum range of 5,900 nautical miles and a maximum speed of Mach 0.90.

A new Bombardier Global 5500 is priced at approximately $46 million. However, older used models of the Global 5500 can be found for around $38 million.
